As an artist I like to explore different mediums and materials, especially drawing and sculpture. I find that I love to explore a sense of contrast between the materials and the subject matter of the artwork that I create. I often use wire to create sculptures that depict objects that have a lot of fluidity or softness. I think the contrast between using a rigid material to convey something fluid and flexible is very captivating. I also like to use defined markers, or pens to create very loose free flowing drawings. My inspiration usually comes from cubism because I am very intrigued by the geometric shapes and ideas of the fourth dimension. There is a strange multi-dimensionality to cubist works and I love how dynamic they are. I hope to provoke thought and interest with my artwork, and strive to explore my perspective of the world and personal identity through my art.
